Personal Quote: whatever happened to eccentric?
My name is Mary Skolnik, and I love smoking pot. I can even smoke it legally in my state, so I can brag about it instead of sneaking around. Sound pretty devious to me. Legalize all drugs!
I think that art is important to humanity because it expresses something inside of us, rather than just showing people what is outside of us. With my art I want to express my subconscious dreams and visions.
I have also attempted writing a satire called "Mary Jane Adventures" back when I was in college, about marijuana legalization. I researched all this stuff about the history of the War on Drugs and the history of drug prohibition and the effect it has on the world.
But I wanted to write a sci fi fantasy adventure that had some comic relief while criticizing drug policy, and I figured hey, that's what satire is for. And, since the country and the world is now publicly divided on the issue, that's what art needs. To recognize it and to truly speak on the issue.
So I did my best, and it's about a marijuana plant that can turn into a person, a little girl, and it has aliens and monsters and gangsters, and a lot of telepathy and telekinesis. I like horror a lot and evil little kids are always hilarious to me, so I wanted to try making one.
It probably won't ever get published, the world is less accepting than I anticipated, but oh well. I tried and put what little morsels I had on the internet and maybe the world will follow suit one day.
I love cartoons and video games and games in general.
